Sri Lanka called “Ratna-Dweepa” – the island of jewels. Mountain massifs rise in the middle of the island hide innumerable precious minerals. The most important precious stones in the island are sapphires and rubies. We also find amethysts, tourmalines, grenades, zircones, aquamarines, topazas and many other rare specimens such as lunar stones or cat eyes. And of course well know star sapphires.
